Minutes

The meeting was called to
order by President, Alison Viemeister at 7:00 PM
Those in attendance: Alison Viemeister, David Viemeister, Mike Wimmer, Jenny Wimmer,
CJ Hartman, Phil Gredler (by speaker phone)

IV. Treasurer’s Report – Alison Viemester reported the following from emailed report from Kitty Cole:
Savings - $5.40
Checking - $1642.88
4 checks have been written since last meeting
- 5/8/09 MMPR for jackets $225.51
- 6/8/09 Mike Wimmer for website costs $147.00
- 8/18/09 Mike Wimmer for Youth Triathlon (medals) $92.84
- 9/10/09 Alison Viemeister reimbursement for Hidden Bay clothing order $1375

V. Web
Master Report – Mike Wimmer reported all is well. Alison suggested adding a place for members to access minutes online; Mike
will investigate making this possible.
VI. Old Business
A. Gobble Waddle: will be Thanksgiving morning
11/26/09 @ 0800. Six mile run route from Viemeister's house followed by coffee, juice, and pastry to follow at 0900.
VII. New
Business
- Election of officers
- President: nominees included Alison Viemeister and CJ Hartman. CJ declined nomination. Results
Unanimous to retain Alison Viemeister as president.
- Vice President: nominee included Mike Wimmer with no opposition. Mike Wimmer
accepted nomination and results unanimous to appoint Mike Wimmer as incoming Vice President.
- Secretary/treasurer: nominee included
Jenny Wimmer with no opposition. Jenny accepted nomination and results unanimous to appoint Jenny Wimmer as incoming Secretary/Treasurer.
- Member phone/email list
- Member list to be distributed to all active members periodically throughout the year to ensure all members
have access to contact one another. First list to be distributed as soon as database received from Kitty Cole.
- Alison proposed making
a “SAG card” with a list of SWAT members willing to be listed as possible SAG support for members with mechanical or other issues while
training. (Example: if someone has a wheel failure on a bike ride, they could call a number from the card to help get them taken
care of or picked up). Jenny Wimmer will solicit members willing to be on a SAG list and provide a laminated card to each active
member by 5/1/09.
- Tri-Outs – do they conflict with Velo Club rides and Master’s swim? Yes they do conflict with Velo Clubs Tuesday
group Ride and Masters Swim. Decision made to continue to meet on Tuesdays.
- Group races: discussed choosing a race next summer
to encourage as many members to participate in as possible, as well as an event to volunteer at as a group.
- Group race: High Cliff
Triathlon. This race weekend in June includes both a sprint triathlon and a half iron distance, reaching a wider variety of
membership. Date is 6/19/10. website is: http://www.midwestsportsevents.com/highclifftri.html
- Group volunteer: Beloit Biathlon
(Duathlon): Date not yet posted but is generally in May the weekend before the Madison Marathon.
- Standards for group activities:
- Will
continue with Tuesday TriOuts, Saturday Pancake Runs, and Sunday Goober McChicken Rides listed in the flyers.
- Friday Night Rides
will be discontinued due to lack of consistent participation/interest.
- Participants will be required to have a liability waiver
on file with SWAT to participate and be supported in group sanctioned activities, such as TriOuts. Waiver will be available
for download from the SWAT website and on the SWAT membership flyers. Non-member and members without waivers will be discouraged
from accompanying the group on these outings for the protection of the integrity of the group.
- Family membership fee of $20 per family
(adults only) proposed. Also proposed: individual membership $15/family $25. Final decision: membership will continue
at $12 per member.
- Christmas party: There has been no suggestion as yet for a location/date for the Christmas party. Jenny
will include a call for a date and a volunteer location or suggestion for a group holiday outing when distributing minutes to membership.
- City Council listening session Nov. 19: Mike and Alison will attend and advocate for more area adult athletic events.

- aquathons
- Janesville Literacy Council triathlon: This group is getting back to SWAT leadership in the near future to discuss our willingness
to assist with this proposed venture. More details will follow as they become available.
- Local triathlon: Alison will contact
Jeni Sauser to discuss ideas for the triathlon proposed to take place to highlight the Janesville downtown area.
- Have a Heart, Give
a Sole campaign: Membership is interested in pursuing coordination of an athletic shoe drive for charity. Suggestions included
involving high school clubs for a donation to the charity of their choice to the winning clubs. Alison will investigate further
and subcommittee will be formed.
- Constitution: Constitution revisions were sent to membership for review and discussion with
meeting invitation. Revisions reviewed by membership present and changes ratified. Final version of revised SWAT constitution

Flyers: Mike Wimmer to make revision suggested throughout the meeting

- Bell Ringing: Salvation Army
website is up and accepting volunteers for holiday bell ringers. Group picked date of Friday 12/11/09 in the evening at Wal-Mart
to ring bells as a group in SWAT Wear/Orange. Mike Wimmer will investigate requesting this assignment and let membership know
further details once finalized
